Roundup of ALL my writing/content from The Shorthorn!
I may be returning to The Shorthorn in the Spring. I’ve been asked by a couple of the editors, and I am applying—we will see. :) I decided I needed to make a roundup post of all the work I have had published in The Shorthorn, just for reference. So here we go. This includes my writing and photos!
As you may know, before I hosted The Broccoli Bulletin on Wordpress, it was hosted by The Shorthorn at UT Arlington—please click HERE to see all my past Broccoli Bulletin posts (there are 36 blog posts total—happy browsing!)
Here are my past guest columns for The Shorthorn (Spring 2011-Spring 2012):
These are kind of embarrassing—I personally think there’s a lot of room for improvement…the last two are probably the pieces I am most satisfied with.- UT Arlington should post signs alerting students to animals impacted by litter
- Do the world, animals and your body a favor by switching to a vegan lifestyle (They cut/edited it without consulting me—the actual version is HERE).
- Students need more vegetarian/vegan food options at UT Arlington (This one was such a basic article, but it was probably my most popular post, surprisingly. Over 8000 views, the last time I checked. The view count is no longer displayed).
- The ring of dead birds shows a larger cycle of animal mistreatment
- Don’t fund a war, take a closer look at Kony 2012
News I contributed (Spring 2012):
Photos I contributed (Fall 2012):About the content: with the exception of my Kony 2012 critique, all my posts have been related to veganism, the environment and the impact of our food choices.
As always, please let me know your thoughts, if you happen to check out any of my work listed above…and please check out my current blogs: The Broccoli Bulletin on Wordpress and The Mai Kitchen. :) You can follow both on Tumblr here and here.
I will keep you all posted if I return to blogging for The Shorthorn!

In a twisted publicity stunt, two German art students have asked the online community to vote on the execution of a lamb.
